What is insurance premium financing?

A smarter way to finance
insurance premiums.

Insurance premium financing is a financial arrangement in which an eligible customer obtains funding to pay an insurance premium upfront and repays the financing amount over an agreed period.

Instead of paying a large premium from available working capital, the customer may obtain funding from an eligible bank, NBFC or other authorized financing partner, subject to credit approval and applicable regulations. The platform connects the customer, insurance intermediary, insurer and financing partner.

The similarity lies in short-term liquidity management and working-capital optimization. Insurance premium financing is a distinct credit product; it does not create a receivable that can be discounted.

For a business with a ₹10 lakh annual insurance premium, financing could preserve cash for payroll, inventory, supplier payments and other operating needs. The trade-off is the additional cost of financing.

This calculator uses an illustrative reducing-balance EMI formula. It excludes processing fees, taxes, insurance-related charges, any initial payment timing differences and other lender charges. Actual offers, eligibility, repayment schedules and total costs will vary. The calculator is not a financing offer.

It is a financing arrangement that enables an eligible customer to obtain funds for an insurance premium and repay the financing partner under agreed terms.

Financing may be provided by participating banks, NBFCs or other eligible financing entities. Availability depends on the platform’s partner network and the product offered.

Not necessarily. Eligible categories, minimum premiums, maximum loan amounts and repayment tenures are determined by participating lenders and the relevant product structure.

The amount depends on the premium, applicant profile, lender limits, repayment capacity and underwriting criteria. An application does not guarantee approval.

Depending on the applicant and product, documents may include PAN, identity and address proofs, business registration details, bank statements, financial statements, GST information, insurance quotations and existing policy details.

The cost depends on the lender’s interest rate, tenure, processing fees, applicable taxes and other disclosed charges. Customers should review the complete repayment schedule before accepting an offer.
